Although it's tempting to skydive just for the opportunity to sing Tom Petty's "Free Fallin'" with passing birds, most of Skydiving San Antonio-Houston's patrons do it for the adrenaline rush. To obtain that excitement as safely as possible, the center pairs skydivers with instructors for tandem jumps. Before taking the literal leap, patrons train on the ground, learning how to keep their bodies stable, activate parachutes, and adjust to the altitude. Once in the air, they put their training into practice, experiencing what the staff describes as "a feeling of buoyancy similar to being in the water, but with a much greater thrill."
