What You'll Get
Movies are like dreams: they come to us in the dark, they play on our subconscious fears and desires, and the best ones prominently feature Hall of Fame baseball players lecturing children on how to have fun in small towns. Dream a little dream on the big silver screen with today's Groupon for membership to SLC Film Center, on South Main Street. Choose from the following options:
- For $15, you get a Cast membership (a $30 value).
- For $45, you get a Crew membership (a $100 value).
- For $30, you get an Ensemble membership (a $60 value).
With the mission of bringing the artistry of film to a wide, local audience, SLC Film Center screens the best of socially conscious documentaries, independent films, and drama free of charge to more than 22,000 Utah citizens annually. Moviephiles can support SLC with a membership purchase, granting access to SLC's free lending library and its catalog of hundreds of films guarded by a silent-film librarian who communicates only through placards and dramatic shushing gestures. Members can also take advantage of monthly pre-film receptions with light fare and big access to filmmakers and cinema lovers from across the community. Membership levels differ only in the number of tickets provided for each of six advance studio-film screenings yearly. The Cast membership includes one adult ticket to each advance screening, the Ensemble membership includes two adult tickets and two youth tickets to each advance screening, and the Crew membership includes four adult tickets to each advance screening. Check out SLC's calendar for information on screening times and movies that eerily mimic your morning commute via tricycle.

About Utah Film Center
Every year, the Utah Film Center lights up screens with a full schedule of more than 250 free programs. Independent, classic, and documentary films flicker to life at locations in Salt Lake City and across the state of Utah, each handpicked for cinematic excellence, social importance, and high frequency of dance battles. Screenings often end with illuminating discussions with filmmakers or other visiting artists.
Members can deepen their cinematic immersion with tickets to advance studio screenings, access to the lending library, and invitations to pre-showing receptions. The celluloid aficionados also host a number of festivals throughout the year, concentrating on children’s films and LGBT issues.
