This 5K endurance race sends participants through manmade obstacles speckled throughout the natural creeks, hills, and brushes of Sleepy Hollow Sports Park. The event includes free beer and prizes. Local musicians and DJs lay the afternoon’s soundtrack as competitors hit the 300-foot slip 'n slide on their way to the finish.

Sleepy Hollow Sports Park sprawls over 80 acres of fields and slopes buzzing with a variety of year-round activities, from go-karts and bumper boats to downhill sledding. The team puts hold the unique 5k Beer Run every year, giving participants the opportunity to show off at various games and obstacles while sampling beer.

It's an OK place to get some practice with snowboarding/skiing. Not necessarily the best place to learn as it is very icy. Very economical and is the closest option in Des Moines.
