The 5K SlimeAthalon Charity Obstacle Race takes place at the Marion County Fairgrounds on Saturday, September 13, at 8 a.m. Different heats start every 10 minutes. For 3.1 miles, runners race, climb, and jump over obstacles—all with the constant possibility of falling into giant slime pits. Afterward, runners and their guests attend an after-party at Beale Street Live. Live music, a hog roast, and ample drinks keep the party lively.
Each race participant gets an official T-shirt, sunglasses, and lunch; runners 21 and older celebrate with a complimentary beer at the finish line. Runners should also bring a change of clothes, and they can clean up in showering stations after the race.

About SlimeAthalon Charity Obstacle Race
The pits of slime could be anywhere. They potentially wait behind all 30 obstacles along the SlimeAthalon Charity Obstacle Race. Runners need not worry, however—the slime is nontoxic and hypoallergenic. More importantly, it's a lighthearted way to break up the 5K race, which challenges participants of all levels to navigate suspended tunnels and crawl under hurdles. Ample rewards await finishers, including complimentary beers and an after-party. Of course, all of the slime and celebration is for a good cause. The event raises funds for local charities such as Cure for Cancers.
