What You'll Get
Early attempts to mobilize meals met with abject failure, as robo-burgers easily outran the mouths they were meant for. Meet the future with today’s Groupon: for $5, you get $10 worth of gourmet sliders at Slippin’ Sliders Food Truck.
Slippin’ Sliders travels the Triangle in a bright-blue truck, delivering gourmet mini burgers to both scheduled and Twitter-disclosed locations, distributing their haute-meets-hand creations to lunchtime street diners, on-the-go dinner crowds, and flash-mob food fighters. Ingredients from the Raleigh farmers' market influence daily offerings, with commonly dispatched fare including el diablo, a tender beef patty topped with a fiery amalgam of caramelized jalapeños and onions, Texas Pete hot sauce, ranch, and pepper-jack cheese, and the basil-accented salmon burger smothered in garlic alouette cheese on a balsamic-glazed bed of portabellas, caramelized onions, mixed greens, and tomato ($3/1, $2 for each additional). Meat-free morsels also dapple the menu with carefree abandon, rewarding mouths with such creative eats as black-bean burgers and falafel.
