Great question. The answer is yes. Just like traditional tattooing, permanent cosmetics is placed into the dermal layer of the skin and is considered permanent. Meaning it is irreversable. However, depending on skin type, color choice, body chemistry to the pigment, sun exposure, different types of medications, and every day skin exfoliation to name a few, colors will fade over time. In which case, some clients will feel they need maintenance visits overtime to freshen up the color. We also work conservitively as not to go to dark or to thick because it is permanent. We have clients that will have a great result the very first time and won't need touch-up and others may feel they need all three. Most clients feel they need at least two visits for the best results. I, for example, have had my eyeliner for 17 years and have only touched it up twice and this is not uncommon. It is also not ucommon for clients to come in once a year to touch it up because of the above variables mentioned.
