What You'll Get
Though their impressive wingspans and snowy crowns are certainly distinctive, bald eagles are perhaps best known for photo bombing the photo shoot that produced the Great Seal of the United States. Insinuate an eagle into the background of your life with this Groupon.
Choose Between Two Options
- $149 for a 13-mile guided bald eagle canoe tour for two (a $300 value)
- $299 for the 13-mile guided canoe trip for two adults and two kids (a $600 value)
One-day trips send travelers on a seven- to eight-hour outing down a stretch of the Potomac River known as a prime hangout for flocks of regal eagles. As canoes glide silently through the water, travelers glean historical tidbits and eagle facts from guides while gazing out across land unspoiled by roads, skyscrapers, or neighbors singing loudly in the shower. Excursions include basic canoe instruction, filling novice noggins with the know-how to handle the Class I and II rapids they will encounter along the way. A picnic lunch will be provided as will an emailed picture from the trip. Guides recommend that travelers bring wide-brimmed hats, sunglasses, binoculars, a set of dry clothes, and sunscreen. Check the calendar for upcoming dates.

About Soaring Eagles Adventures
Craig and Cammie Cole, the husband-and-wife team behind Soaring Eagles Adventures, believe that life was not meant to be lived within cubical walls. Even though they’ve been sharing the wonders of the wilderness for nine years, the sight of a bald eagle's massive wings as it soars gracefully overhead has never lost an ounce of splendor. To them, each canoe excursion they lead is a much-needed break from the stressors of the modern world, so their trips venture into river valleys devoid of human interference, where bald eagles carry on their lives as they’ve done ever since Bigfoot stopped supplying them with toupees. The pair leads guests on half-day, full-day, and overnight camping trips, and share tips for surviving the wilderness and even marriage through podcasts and regular seminars.
