Whether it's Guaraldi jazz from A Charlie Brown Christmas, a modern setting of a Middle English Yuletide text or polyphony from the Spanish Renaissance, the acclaimed a cappella sextet known as Solstice can bring it to stunning life with their goosebump-inducing harmonies. In keeping with their reputation for entertaining holiday concerts, this year the all-female chorus will premiere an arrangement of Gustav Holst's "In the Bleak Midwinter" by Bay Area composer Cortlandt Bender in celebration of the ensemble's 20th anniversary. Traditional and contemporary carols from Finland, Sweden, England, France, Spain and the U.S. will round out this festive concert at Saint John's Episcopal Church in Ross.
This concert is open to all ages, and the content is appropriate for children. This is a classical concert, and parents will know best whether their child or children can handle sitting still through the show. The run time, including intermission, will be about 90 minutes.
