Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

What is your weight limit for adults? Thanks.

M. L.  asked on  Jan 3, 2013

A:

The weight maximum is 300 lbs.

A:

Hello, Please be sure to call for more details though if you are close to this weight. It is not just an arbitrary number, it depends on how long the ride is and how slick the trails are. We can definitely accommodate someone who is 300 pounds on a one hour ride, and possibly even a little more than 300 pounds. Usually on a two hour, that is too much weight for a horse in the mountains, especially if the weather conditions cause the trail to be slick. So it depends on a few factors, and we would recommend giving us a call to be sure if you are close to this 300 pound weight limit. The stable office number is 970-586-4577. Thank you!

More Questions and Answers

Q:

I have a family of 3. Is there any way I can purchase the 2 hour ride for 3 people?

Alphretta E.  asked on  Jan 4, 2013

A:

You can purchase a Groupon for 2 people, but you must pay full price for the third person. Or you can purchase a Groupon for 4 people and see if you can find a friend or someone to take that last spot. If you cannot find a friend to take the last spot, that is fine, you can just use it for 3 people. Either way, that is still a great savings compared to full price for the whole family.

Q:

Can a 9 year old who has never ridden a horse do something like this?

Angela L.  asked on  Jan 2, 2013

A:

Absolutely. We have horses specifically for children who have never ridden before, and all of our horses are fine for beginners. We have children younger than 9 who have never ridden before come all of the time. However keep in mind that if it is very cold out, a 1 hour ride might be long enough for a 9 year old.

Q:

I purchased the groupon and it says "One two-hour tour for 2 people" for 35 dollars. That equals $17.50 per person. Please confirm that this purchase is correct. It also says "limit one per person" and I don't understand what that means given the above description.

JC C.  asked on  Jan 2, 2013

A:

Hi JC. This is not correct. There was an error with the description of this deal. The deal has been updated to reflect the correct information. The One 2-hour guided trail ride for two people is $45

Q:

I have 4, 9 years old kids. Do they ride a horse with a adult(either me, or my wife) ?

Jake L.  asked on  Jan 2, 2013

A:

Most of the time, children ages 2, 3, and 4 ride with an adult. However, it depends on their size and the size of the adult riding with them. Our top concern is safety, and so if they are too big, they will need to ride their own horse. We have plenty of children-safe horses for kids that young. We would need to make the call in person whenever you guys arrive, or you can call the stable office and we could probably give you a better idea. Children over 5 years of age all must ride their own horse. As far as it goes for Groupon, all children regardless of whether they ride on their own or ride with an adult count as a person for Groupon (prices are the same no matter the age).
