What You'll Get
Yoga is one of the world's oldest forms of exercise, second only to holding the earth on your shoulders. Practice ancient athleticism with today's Groupon: for $19, you get a 10-class pass for hot yoga and nonheated yoga classes, plus complimentary mat and towel rental, at Some Like It Hot (a $130 value) in Oakville.
Some Like It Hot's seasoned yogis lead muscle-moulding classes in various styles of heated and nonheated yoga to accommodate a range of student needs. Students simmer through 40- to 75-minute hot classes in the Fire studio in temperatures up to 39 degrees Celsius, which can be adjusted depending on the class and number of attending snowmen. Spend the first 25 minutes of Yang/Yin sessions immersed in dynamic strength-based poses before moving into deep holds and stretches to comfort connective tissue in hips and lower backs. Vinyasa-based Power Sweat classes challenge pupils of all experience levels to perform balloon-animal impersonations as they burn up to 600 calories per session.
Pupils can also pursue non-heated sessions in the Water studio. Instructors beckon all levels of students to focus on alignment and breath as they flow between postures in The Synchronizer class. In Therapeutic Yoga classes, instructors ameliorate specific health concerns and by easing participants through adapted regimens of postures, breathing, and relaxation techniques. Students prepare to touch their heels to their ponytails in either studio's spacious change rooms, equipped with showers and lockers. Although mat and towel rental is included with today's groupon, yogis are also welcome to bring their own.
While Some Like It Hot sometimes features a discounted price online, this Groupon still offers the best deal available.
