Sons of Liberty Spirits Company captures the taste and feel of New England autumns in its seasonal Pumpkin Spice Flavored Whiskey. The variety was awarded world’s best flavored whiskey by the World Whiskies Awards in London, which names 10 total award winners per year. Staff members of the Rhode Island-based craft distillery—along with many volunteers—cut, core, roast, and press thirty thousand pounds of pumpkins sourced from Carpenter’s Farm. Barrel-aged whiskey complements the local harvest with traditional autumn spices, including clove, allspice, vanilla, cinnamon, and sweet orange. About Sons of Liberty Beer & Spirits
We brew a stout beer and distill it into whiskey. We brew them, then distill them.
True to its name, Sons of Liberty Spirits Company began with a revolutionary thought. While observing the proliferation of microbrews and seasonal craft beers, the company's founders wondered why the same model of constant innovation had yet to translate to the world of whiskey distilling. With a horizon-chasing attitude, they set out to fill that void—and haven't looked back since. Rather than deriving flavors from squeezing out every bar rag in Rhode Island, their small-batch, single-malt whiskeys are distilled from their own flavorful craft beers. Double-distilled from darker strains of pure malted barley and aged in charred and toasted oak, Uprising captures the complex, aromatic punch of its stout beer origin; Battle Cry blends malted barley, rye malt and honey malt for a more complex tasting single malt derived from a Belgian ale. And like many breweries, Sons of Liberty concocts a seasonal Gala Apple variety reaped from locally grown apples.
Though driven by a novel concept, Sons of Liberty quickly established itself in the whiskey community, garnering acclaim from publications such as Maxim, Paste Magazine, Boston.com, and Whisky Magazine, which holds annual World Whiskies Awards. In the meantime, its trophy collection has continued to swell, as the distillery has captured awards from the American Distilling Institute, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, the World Whiskies Awards, and recently having their hop-flavored whiskey voted Best in North America by Whisky Magazine and they themselves have been named 2017 Craft Producer of the Year by Whisky Magazine.
