You’ve already invested so much time living in your body; don’t throw it away in favor of a new one. With today’s Groupon, reinvigorate and restore your soul-vehicle. For $99, you get four spa services at Soothe Your Senses Day Spa in Edgewater, a $200 value. Wrought-iron balconies, exposed brick, and a waiting area that looks like a New Orleans courtyard garden make for enduring Southern comfort in this French Quarter–inspired spa. All services must be used on the same day, though they can be split between two people.
Soothe Your Senses excels at so many game-changing spa services, we couldn’t just offer one with today’s Groupon. Instead, you’ll get all four of the following:
- Power Force Massage: Incorporates Swedish massage and energy-modality massage therapy into 45 minutes of relaxing, stress-shedding bliss. The Swedish massage will knead away acute and chronic pains as it improves circulation and muscle tone, while the Energy Modality uses touch to influence and harmonize your chakras, the body’s energy centers (normally $80).
- Perk Up Steam Session: Choose one of Soothe Your Senses’ signature essential oil blends (Calming, Rejuvenating, Sensual, or Therapeutic) and then relax in the steam room for 20 minutes of aromatherapy treatment (normally $25).
- Power Cleanse Facial: This intensive 25-minute cleansing treatment, a $30 value, essentially gives you double the facial and includes a steam, exfoliation, and hydration treatment.
- Perfect Pedicure: 75 minutes of the four R s: Refresh your leg-hands with a bath of dried herbs, sea salts, and essential oils. Renew them with an exfoliating foot scrub of natural sugar, tea tree, and jojoba oils. Revive them with a hydrating masque cocooned in a hot towel. Replenish them with foot and leg moisturizer, followed by a 15-minute foot and calf massage (normally $65).
Soothe Your Senses owner Gretchen Halpin’s grandfather was a trained traiteur, or Creole faith-healer, who dished out healing salves and potions made from bayou roots and leaves. Halpin inherited his cherished secrets and uses age-old plant poultice recipes to work modern marvels on aching backs, tired feet, and skin ailments. Expect to leave Soothe Your Senses with a body that feels like a Mardi Gras float—overflowing with life, bursting with colorful beads, and gliding just above the ground.
The spa soothed the sense of reviewers on Citysearch and Insider Pages, who give it perfect five-star ratings.
