With advances in digital cameras, you’d think creating your own photo session would be easy—until you start fumbling with lighting, trying to find the proper white balance, and Googling “aperture.” Fortunately, today’s deal—$60 for a 30-minute photo session from Soul Search Photography (up to $225 value)—makes it look easy (and professional). This Groupon is good for up to eight people per session.

The 30-minute session entitles you to an unlimited amount of snaps, but a limited amount of prints. You’ll get the basic print package with this deal ($50 value), which includes:

  • One 8x10 photo
  • Two 5x7 photos
  • Four wallet-size photos

You can choose to do your photo shoot on-site ($150–$175 value) in one of the following cities: Wesley Chapel, New Tampa, Zephyrhills, Lutz, Land O Lakes, San Antonio, Dade City, Tampa, South Tampa, Super Tampa, Brandon, Riverview, Plant City, or New Port Richey. Otherwise, you’re always welcome to get your shots taken in-studio ($125–$150 value).

In this whirlwind of a photo shoot, professional photographer LeighAnn Monaghan will be behind the lens to capture memories such as weddings, baby’s first awwwww picture, Senior pictures, Cartography Association Award dinners, or any other event you want to remember forever. Check out the gallery to see what you can expect from her artful eye. Some of her work has been featured in the St. Petersburg Times, and an article on Associated Content says the studio’s work “could be in Life Magazine.” Not since the 1890s has a photographer possessed greater mastery over her art and equipment.

Whether the moment is one of life’s commonly photographed stages or just the annual holiday family photo, random kid’s sporting event, or average Wednesday, this high-quality photography session will result in high-quality memory preservation. Since your eyes are usually more reliable than your memory, give them some mementos of what your life is like. While a point-and-shoot camera is good for a day at the zoo or snapping your latest profile pic, get your Groupon to keep your most important memories in mint condition.

Why It's Illegal to Photograph The Moon

Photography was invented in 1908 for the purpose of shaming racehorses into running faster. Embarrassed at the implied speed of their still portraits, horse speeds doubled within a year. The new technology quickly gained popularity with myriad other velocity-related applications, including the use of photography to shame children into growing faster. By 1950, the average height in the United States was 11 feet.

As a race of giants, Americans quickly outgrew the planet Earth and entered the moon race against the shorter Soviets. Unfortunately, once both countries had established their moon bases, the moon's negligible gravitational pull gave the smaller, lighter cosmonauts an advantage, and the Americans were badly defeated in the First Moon War. For this reason, it is now illegal to talk about, think of, or photograph the moon.
