What You'll Get
The acclaimed South Asian performance group Pratidhwani teams with the Sound Theatre Company for the Seattle premiere of Tom Stoppard’s romantic drama Indian Ink, which explores the brief and mysterious relationship between Flora, an adventurous English poet, and an Indian artist during that country’s struggle for independence in the ’30s. Written by Oscar and four-time Tony winner Stoppard (Shakespeare in Love, Arcadia, The Real Thing) in his elegantly witty style, the play delves into fascinating issues of art, culture, love, loss and even eroticism, as 50 years later, Flora’s sister Eleanor is prompted by the artist’s son to look back at what really happened between the two lovers. Indian Ink now comes to Center Theatre after a sold-out, critically acclaimed run in New York in 2014.
