Parade is a stirring musical based on the real-life story of Jewish factory foreman Leo Frank, who was convicted for the murder of a 13-year-old girl in 1913 Atlanta. Set against the backdrop of Frank's controversial trial, this powerful story by Pulitzer Prize-winner Alfred Uhry (Driving Miss Daisy) is part murder mystery, part social commentary and partly the story of the love that grows between Leo and his wife Lucille as they fight for his freedom against overwhelming anti-Semitism. Parade won the 1999 Tony Award for Best Book and Best Musical Score. See it in Seattle at 12th Ave Arts.
