Today, 50 million menopausal women turn to self-help books for cheerful tips and tricks. But in The Madwoman in the Volvo, Loh and her friends have decided to barrel into menopause on their own terms, heading to the desert for a weekend of debauchery and half-nude stoners at Burning Man festival. This hilarious ride through midlife madness is based on the hugely popular memoir of the same name by NPR commentator Sandra Tsing Loh.
