Legendary guitarist and surrealist songwriter/storyteller Robyn Hitchcock is one of Britain's most admired and enduring artists, who's developed much more than his original cult following for his eclectic endeavors into melodic pop, alternative rock and Dylanesque folk. The man Rolling Stone calls "a gifted melodist [who] nests engaging lyrics in some of the most bracing, rainbow-hued pop this side of [The Beatles'] Revolver" comes to SOPAC with the latest of his 30 album releases, the critically-acclaimed The Man Upstairs. The focus of not one, but two acclaimed documentaries, the always-fascinating Hitchcock started out as the founder of the punk band The Soft Boys, before going solo and collaborating with fellow musical visionaries like Gillian Welch, Nick Lowe, John Paul Jones, Peter Buck and many more.
