Eat! Drink! SoFAB! Gala

Much like its exhibits, the Southern Food & Beverage Museum's annual ball—Eat! Drink! SoFAB! Gala—celebrates all things related to the diverse ethnic cuisines of the South. Samplings of farm-to-table cuisine from regionally focused local restaurant Purloo pairs with beer, wine, and Bayou Rum cocktails. Live music lends the soundtrack to the food-focused evening, while a live silent auction allows guests to bet on culinary items without having to talk or dodge the sound waves of other bidders. For added food education, panelists from the Farm to Table International Symposium mingle with guests and introduce culinary topics throughout the evening. This year, event proceeds go to support SoFAB's fresh collections in its soon-to-open new location at the former Dryades Market, as well as those at the Museum of the American Cocktail.

Customer Reviews

Fun place if your expectations aren't too high. They're still putting it together. Be aware that it's not open on Tuesday! Nothing thrilling, but, some fun facts along the way. Note: across the street is the New Orleans Jazz market which features NO jazz band with Irwin Mayfield. He plays there on occasion. Check it out!
