Pick-up is available at many area hotels including Hilton Riverside, Marriott Convention Center, Marriott Canal Street, Sheraton Canal Street, the Bourbon Orleans, The Roosevelt, and the Hyatt Regency Loyola. Call (504) 568-1998 to confirm pick-up location. Pick-up for these three-hour tours begins at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., seven days a week, and tours depart at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. respectively. Children younger than 12 are regularly admitted for $25.
In an enclosed, air-conditioned minibus that runs every day rain or shine, riders pass through the French Quarter and travel past the mansions along Esplanade Avenue on the way to City Park. There they will visit the Morning Call Cafe for coffee and beignets, then view the Besthoff Sculpture Garden. In addition, the tour will pass through the Ninth Ward, a neighborhood devastated by Hurricane Katrina, the Garden District with its vast mansions, including the childhood home of Eli and Peyton Manning, the Warehouse District, and Faubourg Treme, one of the oldest African-American neighborhoods in the country. The tour also makes a brief stop at a cemetery, where riders will see the city’s distinctive above-ground tombs.
