Q:

My 8mm's are over 50 years old and I have no sense as to their order. Would you accept these?

Luisa W.  asked on  Apr 14, 2013

A:

Hi Luisa! We would be able to process them. They would would be out of order, but you could request a DataDVD which would provide a digital file and you could use that with some video editing software to reorder them in the future. Thanks!

Q:

I combined a number of 8 mm tapes years ago which now measure 51/2 " in width, which does not fill up a 7" reel. Does that meet the requirements for the $35.00 coupon?

Sandy C.  asked on  Apr 11, 2013

A:

Hi Sandy! We price film based on the reel size - either 3, 5 or 7 inch reels. We would let 5 and a half pass as a five inch reel. You can view pricing for film reels here - the $35 offer for $75 in services would cover the 5" reel.

Q:

Thanks for answering my questions about converting 8mm tape to a DVD. My 8mm spool measures about 5 1/2 inches. Years ago I edited a number of individual 8mm tapes together to tell the story of growing hops. Do you think that would still fall into the six 8 mm tapes for the $35.00? Thanks again

Sandy C.  asked on  Apr 11, 2013

A:

Hey Sandy! Sorry, I think we misunderstood your original question. We process both 8mm camcorder tapes (we can do 6 of those for $35) and 8mm film, and it sounds like you would like 8mm film transferred which is $50.95 for a full 5inch reel which is about a hundred feet of film. For complete pricing and options, check out southtree.com/order. Thanks!

Q:

Is there a limit to the length of the video tape? Will a 60 minute 8mm or mini-dv videotape count as one? Do you provide packaging to send to you or do we do that ourselves?

Marty R.  asked on  Apr 11, 2013

A:

Hey Marty, There is no limit to the length of your video tape and each tape is transferred to its own DVD to ensure quality and ease of use for you. You are responsible for mailing it to us and then we ship it back to you using Fedex. Thanks!
