Q:

I have 45 video8 and hi 8 tapes that I would like to have converted and I will need three copies of each. How many of the $75 for $250 of services groupons will I need to purchase. Giving them to the kids for Christmas . Would it be best to buy the $19.95 combo set and then the $4.95 copy? Then I would have two standard copies and one editable copy. Or would it be less expensive to buy the budget $8.95 version and two extra $4.95 per copy duplicates? Trying to determine the best way to do this. Help! Thank you! P.s. not really a necessity to have the editable version but would be nice.

JoAnn P.  asked on  Nov 3, 2012

A:

Hi JoAnn! I would suggest going with the Experience DVD and then getting extra sets of the DVDs, especially since you can take advantage of the discount on our services with today's Groupon offer. You can e-mail info@southtree.com and a customer service rep can go over the differences in more detail. Thanks!

Q:

I have 17 - 3" reels 7 - 5" reels 3 - 7" reels What would the data DVD final cost be on that. The larger reels are 3" reels spliced together, does each 3" reel equivalent have to go on its own data dvd? Trying to determine cost for that. Is there any examples to see the outcome of the transfer process?

Jason S.  asked on  Nov 4, 2012

A:

Hi Jason! You can view an example clip at southtree.com/film We combine your submitted film onto a DVD and then you can add just one DataDVD to your film order for an extra $15.95 and you'll receive the digital movie file of the film

Q:

I have a number of old movies from over 50 years ago, many of which have numerous "bad spots" within the film. In the process of converting them, do you do any editing and remove those bad area before transferring them? Thank you.

Lauren F.  asked on  Oct 31, 2012

A:

Hey Lauren, we can transfer tapes that have damage on them but we cannot edit the damaged spots out of tapes. If it is film we can cut and splice depending on the amount of damage.
