The process to board the flight seemed very disorganized. I also didn't like how limited the flight options were. There needs to be a larger presence in US airports

Southwest is more similar to bus service than what we think of for flying-very low frills. But luggage is free, and they have a sense of humor and are cheap. Fares don't change minute to minute. I have been flying them exclusively since my Groupon.

About This Deal

Flying in a luxury jet is among the most comfortable ways to travel, rivaled only by taking a trip curled up inside a kangaroo's pouch or the soft-haired arms of a mailman. Cruise comfortably with today’s Groupon: for $40, you get $80 toward a Southwest Airlines Wanna Get Away roundtrip flight from Newark Liberty International Airport to any Southwest Airlines destination. This Groupon is redeemable online; before making reservations, would-be passengers can consult Southwest’s low-fare calendar, which provides a listing of the lowest-priced Wanna Get Away flights.

Southwest Airlines, which was named the best low-cost airline in North America in 2010 by Business Traveler magazine, employs a fleet of Boeing 737s to whisk skyfarers away to 72 travel destinations scattered across 37 of America's most airplane-friendly states. On a cross-country flight from Newark to San Diego (roundtrip Wanna Get Away rates vary from $248 to $906) or from Newark to Phoenix ($298–$912), passengers can check two bags for free (weight and size limitations apply), filling each with up to 50 pounds of short-term necessities. Inside all of Southwest's airborne birds, passengers can expect to encounter plush leather seats with plenty of leg room, allowing guests to kick back and, on some flights, enjoy in-flight WiFi ($5 per device for each one-way trip).

From check-in to sendoff, Southwest employees keep passengers' brows as cool as cucumbers swimming in lettermen jackets by providing meticulous customer service and convenient boarding options. Each of Southwest's check-in points feature easy-to-use ticket kiosks that expedite the trek to the gates, where cloud-bound citizens can freely claim seats with their convenient open-seating policy.

Tickets must be purchased between April 20 and May 20, at least seven days before a flight date between April 27 and July 27. Groupons cannot be used for flights during peak travel times from May 26 through May 31 and June 30 through July 5. This Groupon does not provide a discount on taxes or ticket-registration fees. Visit www.southwest.com/groupon for complete terms and conditions.
