Q:

Do you let the patient use numbing cream and do you sell it there in your office or have any other methods to decrease the pain of the needles? Dee

Darlene P.  asked on  May 22, 2013

A:

Hi Darlene, Thank you for your interest at Elase Medical Spas & Cosmetic Surgery Center. The treatment is done with an extremely tiny gauge needle however, we can use the numbing cream and provide it to our patients for treatment at no additional cost if needed.

Q:

What type of recovery period is involved with this process? My daughter's wedding is in 3 weeks and didn't know if there is time to have the procedure and recover fully. What do you need to do for recovery period & how quickly will it take for the area to look normal?

Linda W.  asked on  May 21, 2013

A:

Hi Linda, Thank you for your interest at Elase Medical Spas & Cosmetic Surgery Center. With Sclerotherapy we require you to wear compression stockings for one week post treatment. Have your daughter come in for a complimentary consultation so we can evaluate her and answer any questions she may have.

Q:

I tried the laser treatment and it was so painful they had to use the lowest setting and it accomplished nothing. Are the two treatments for one area, or is it one treatment for each area? I've never had this done and don't know if multiple treatments for one area are necessary as they are for the laser treatments. The veins are on the inside of each of my legs and are not very bad.

Noel C.  asked on  May 21, 2013

A:

Hi Noel, Thank you for your interest at Elase Medical Spas & Cosmetic Surgery Center. Sclerotherapy is not a laser treatment it is an injection. The treatment is a well-recognized procedure used to treat telangiectasias and reticular blood vessels. A tiny needle is used to instill the medication directly into the target vessels which then causes the vessels to collapse and be reabsorbed and broken down by the body is an injection not a laser treatment. Each treatment is 30 minutes long and is not determined per area. We would like for you to come in for a complimentary consultation to be evaluated by our nurse.
