What You'll Get
Restoring a slightly used body is much less expensive than junking and replacing it with an expensive, imported, newer model. Recondition and rejuvenate your current state of being with today's deal: for $50, you get to choose one custom spa package from two options from Spa Willamina (a $125 value). This boutique salon has space for four to six clients at a time. The exclusive space means there may be a bit of a wait to get in, but like a line for the Tilt-o-Whirl-on-Fire, it's worth it. Call ahead to schedule an appointment.
Redeem your Groupon for either a massage- or facial-based package. If your muscles feel tired, kinked, and unpounded, go for the 30-minute coconut-and-mandarin-infused full-body massage ($45); if you'd rather respark the glow of your façade, the 30-minute honey-and-lavender-infused facial ($45) is your weapon of choice. Choose your destiny depending on your needs, desires, and the phase of the moon. Either choice includes three additional services to complete the package: an exfoliation full-body brush ($20), a lemongrass scalp massage ($35), and a peppermint foot treatment ($25). The run time for either package is right around 60 minutes, or about the same time it takes to transform microwave popcorn into charcoal.
Spa Willamina's lovely bungalow location also provides a much more relaxing atmosphere than Portland spas operating out of nearby grain silos, abandoned Soviet labor camps, and your supervisor's office cubicle. Willamina founder Willow and her staff of skilled practitioners use plant-based ingredients in their treatments, making you feel like you spent a sunny day frolicking through Forest Park and getting hugged by every flower and tree.
The Oregonian named Spa Willamina to its 25 Things to Do in Portland list. Portland Monthly calls it one of four “prime places for a springtime reawakening,” and portlandpicks.com praises its “tranquility, healing, and renewal.” Sunset magazine is a big fan too:
- …trust me when I say that Portland’s Spa Willamina is a true gem indeed. – Irene Edwards, Sunset
- The most amazing massage and spa experience I have ever had. – ShirlTheWhirl, Citysearch
- I love this place! I have been back on many occasions and each experience was as great if not better than the last. The staff always made me feel welcomed and were very attentive to my needs. They offer wonderful suggestions to improve my skin and/or to take care of myself. I always left feeling refreshed and renewed. – Owanda G., Yelp

About Spa Willamina
While protecting the beauty of their clients, Spa Willamina also protects their skin and the environment by using pure, plant-based, natural products. Willow Light, the owner, puts her 20 years of healing experience to work in the spa, which features towering plants, an exposed-brick fireplace, and hardwood floors that can be pried up and thrown into the fireplace if necessary. Willow’s staff is a small army of aestheticians and massage therapists who have skills as diverse as certified diet counseling and herbalism. Inside various tranquil spaces—including a shower room, foot-soaking room, and nap room—they work to exfoliate body surfaces, knead out tension, and remove unwanted hair with soft strip and Cirepil Blue hard wax.
