What You'll Get
Though the ancient Olympic sports of chariot racing, minotaur baiting, and pranking Odysseus have waned in popularity, the competitive spirit of the past lives on. Celebrate modern athleticism with today's Groupon: for $30, you get four sessions of speed and agility training for athletes ages 7–18 (a $62.50 value) at SpeedWorks.
With years of experience training everyone from children to pro-football players, SpeedWorks combines expertise and personalized instruction to forge everyday people into faster, more agile everyday people. SpeedWorks serves as the official training facility for the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs and has trained professional athletes, including Jacob Hester of the San Diego Chargers and John David Booty of the Minnesota Vikings, using activities focused on strength and explosiveness, improving linear and multidirectional movement and the ability to dodge ninja stars. With four speed and agility training classes, even the casual jock can build up enough nimbleness to excel in any event, from soccer or softball to full-contact battle chess. Classes are held Monday through Thursday at 3:30 p.m. (for all ages), 4:30 p.m. (for ages 7–11 and 12 and up), and 5:30 p.m. (for ages 12 and up).
Although there aren't many online reviews for SpeedWorks, it provides online testimonials from satisfied clients.

Athletes of all backgrounds flock to SpeedWorks to boost their speed, strength, and stamina. Led by the award-winning Matt Merry, the facility arm trainees with universally applicable skills such as linear and multi-direction movement, injury prevention, and how to invent wacky plays that are just crazy enough to win the big game against the no-good meanies of East Side High.
SpeedWorks small group sessions, aimed at ages 7-18, focus on running, lifting, or a combination of the two, with exercises tailored based on the results of the participants’ initial athletic assessment. Alternatively, the center’s one- or two-day clinics cover topics that range from how to eat well to how to meet the speed requirements of a given sport. Similarly, the on-site adult fitness boot camp, aptly named Camp Gladiator, whips trainees into shape in a competitive yet camouflage-free environment.
