Explorer Ponce de León abandoned his quest to discover the mythical land of wine after a tumble into the Fountain of Youth left him eternally underage. Take up his journey with today’s Groupon: for $18, you get a wine-tasting outing for four at SpierHead Winery (up to a $37 value). The wine tasting outing includes:
- One bottle of Chardonnay (up to a $25 value)
- Tasting for up to four people (up to a $12 value)
SpierHead Winery's vintners hand-harvest six grape varietals and ferment them in small batches, creating wines that have been extolled by Eat Magazine and Icon Scores. Oenophiles cruise up a winding drive girded by apple orchards and vineyards before arriving at SpierHead's joint tasting room and art gallery. There, four guests can sip SpierHead's assortment of wines. Tastes may include the 2009 cabernet sauvignon, confined for 18 months to French oak barrels until it learned to play nicely with other grapes. After the tasting, guests can meander toward the sunny picnic patio and snack on SpierHead's assortment of house-made crostini and brie. Visitors can also savour their included bottle of chardonnay on the premises or tote it home and turn a profit renting it out to miniature ships.
