Current RuPaul’s Drag Race frontrunner Ginger Minj makes her heavenly New York City debut in the new musical comedy Crossdresser for Christ. Call it a “relig-ish” experience. Raised as a Southern Baptist in Lake County, Florida a self-described “chubby little lady-boy” gets tired of having hell and damnation shoved down her throat. So she begins her own search for alternative answers. The production takes you along on her wild, wig-filled journey. Ginger has earned such titles as “Miss Gay United States At Large 2013” and “Miss National Comedy Queen 2012.” She cites classic funny ladies Carol Burnett and Lucille Ball as her idols and she’ll channel both comediennes while serving up over-the-top, rhinestone-studded humor. This night of “preaching to the perverted” will be performed for one night only at The Laurie Beechman Theatre.
