About Spin Kicks Cycle and Fitness
The instructors at Spin Kicks are lifelong fitness enthusiasts who have experience in pursuits ranging from marathon running to competitive sports to, of course, cycling. Master Scarsellone, for example, has represented Canada at Taekwon-Do World Championships in such places as Pyongang and St. Peterborough, Russia. The team brings its enthusiasm to the members at Spin Kicks, leading cycling classes while perched atop RealRyder stationary bikes that tilt and turn as if cruising down mountain paths. The realistic bike movements activate core muscles as students pedal in rhythm and teachers encourage them to go faster and push themselves harder. In addition to the indoor classes, the instructors lead outdoor cycling clubs in warmer months, as well as manage a bike shop that treats bicycles to repairs, tune-ups, and tire-tread readings.
Spin Kicks also offer Cardio Combat—a workout that combines martial arts with cardio fitness. Classes focus on strength training, abdominal exercises, and stretching, with reported benefits including weight loss, stress relief, increased stamina, and muscle gain. No prior martial arts experience is required to sign up, and the course serves as a notable counterpoint to the cycling classes.
