Through a combination of hands-on learning and classroom training, ASA-affiliate instructors impart sailing basics such as tacking, jibbing, steering, wind recognition, docking, knots, and terminology. Each lesson is limited to four students and may be taken as a stand-alone introductory sailing course or as the first of a two-part course that leads to a basic keelboat certification. The class runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. over two consecutive days and includes two hours of classroom instruction, four hours on the water, and a lunch break each day. See the schedule for class times, as well as Spinnaker Sailing’s FAQ page for what to bring.
