I , like most folks, prefer to have golden fries, not muddy brown ones . Change the cooking oil please. Then the chicken also would be golden instead of brown.

The food is good. The waitress are great. My only negative is that you have to wait a long time for your food to arrive. Last time I waited 55 minutes. The time before that about 40 min. I only go when I have time to sit around. ( I do enjoy the food though)

What You'll Get

A diner's oversized booths and oversized pies have long been a beacon of hope for teens dumped after prom and frowny clowns looking for new novelty-sized props. Take refuge in the crispy crust of an old-fashioned eatery with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of comfort food and drinks at Spoons Diner on Douglas Street.

Spoons Diner entices gourmands with a festive menu that runs the gamut of classic counter chow. Rise and shine as the sun's eager grin blinds your face and bite into a breakfast club ($9), a hearty sandwich bedecked with fried eggs, bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, and a side of hash browns. The build-your-own "ommy" option (starting at $7) is optimal for eggheads who crave an assortment of veggies alongside their cheeses and meats. Spoons' menu is sprawling and toasts both the savoury and sweet side of breakfast before swapping college pranks over a midday meal. The aptly entitled Rub My Tummy and Gimme a Nap sandwich ($11) stumps baby geniuses with a chicken breast worshipped by bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and Swiss cheese. Spoons Diner also dares to bookend meals with appetizing appetizers such as onion rings ($4) and scrumptious desserts including the apple-berry pie ($5).

Though online reviews for the restaurant are still growing, 83% of more than 130 Urbanspooners recommend Spoons Diner:

  • Good coffee, wicked Benedict selections and their hash is heavenly! – hungrymonkey
  • Staff is super friendly and welcoming, they all obviously love their jobs and you can tell. Food is typical diner fare, but there are some really funky original items on there too. – Mahi-mahi
  • Great food, awesome staff, retro diner atmosphere... can it get better than this? – Mandy Farmer
