What You'll Get
Motorcycles combine the coolness of James Dean, the stylishness of leather clothing, and the convenience of jumping every gorge in the neighborhood. Experience all aspects of two-wheeled entertainment with today’s Groupon: for $69, you get a one-day motorcycle rental from Sport Ryder Rentals in Carrollton (up to a $164.95 total value). The rental includes the following:
- One day with a sport bike, sport-touring bike or three-wheeler, or cruiser (up to a $159 value)
- Helmet rental (a $5.95 value)
- 100 miles, followed by an additional $0.49/mile
This Groupon does not cover the security deposit ($2,500, or $1,000 plus a one-time fee of $7.95, on a credit card) or insurance fees ($22.95–$32.85/day).
Sport Ryder Rentals’ stable of top-of-the-line cycles caters to all manner of hawg wranglers, whether they are tourists seeking to experience Texas free from a car’s confines, occasional cyclists looking for a cost-effective speed fix, or veteran bikers eager to try a new ride before buying. Riders can experience the swift agility of a sport bike such as the Ducati Monster 696, the meaty heft of the cruising Harley-Davidson Fat Bob, or a sport-touring two-wheeler such as the BMW F800 ST, or three-wheeled Can-Am Spyder Roadster, designed for speed and endurance, like a competitive pinecone eater. Drivers may take more expensive models for a spin and pay the difference.
The shop also provides adventurers with a trove of route maps, ranging from four-hour day trips to two-week tours of Texas at large. Riders can conquer the gentle ups and downs of the Red River Ride while passing through an old Spanish ghost town and a tiny German-flavored settlement brimming with antique stores and coffee shops. The half-day ride puts wild things on swooping rural roads only a short distance from Dallas, whooshes past the Texas Motor Speedway, and deposits renters back at the starting point a few hours later. GPS upgrades are available at $15 per day, preloaded with all Sport Ryder Rentals’ preferred maps, and every rental comes with a complimentary nickname comparable to “Beefchops.”
