What You'll Get
Like the seedpod of the sacred lotus, golf courses are filled with holes and cause feelings of euphoria when chewed. Tee off blissfully with today’s Groupon: for $48, you get 18 holes of golf and cart rental for four (up to a $96 value) at Spring Lake Golf Resort in Sebring.
Spring Lake Golf Resort’s two 18-hole courses meander around the freshwater inlets of Lake Istokpoga, spanning a total of 13,234 yards of tropical turf. Choose between Panther Creek and its shorter, slightly easier counterpart, Cougar Trail, both named after the rival tap-dancing gangs of Floridian legend. Test endurance and golf proficiency on Panther Creek's 800-yard, par 6 sixth hole, or forcefully putt a white orb across the colossal 42,000-square-foot green of Cougar Trail's par 3 ninth hole. Trees are sparse and fairways generous on the relatively open courses, but water hazards lurk nearby, where ill-struck spheroids sink to rest near the eyepatches of long-dead pirates and seafaring optometrists. Club-wielding cadets pick from six tee distances on Panther Creek or five tee options on Cougar Trail, making each course agreeable to golfers of all abilities.
If an 18-hole spree fails to sate appetites for bunker diving, tee up another round for a same-day replay rate of $20 per person. Golfers can add another round of golf and cart rental and an overnight stay in one of Spring Lake Golf Resort's villas for $49 a person, resting at a safe distance from the sand-trap rakes that spring to life after sundown.

About Spring Lake Golf Resort
Designed to incorporate the freshwater inlets of Lake Istokpoga, Spring Lake Golf Resort pairs a 45-hole golf complex with spacious, course-side villas. The resort’s two 18-hole courses stretch across a total of 13,234 yards of tropical terrain, comprising Panther Creek and its shorter, slightly easier counterpart, Cougar Trail. Water comes into play on nearly every hole on both courses, including Panther Creek’s signature sixth hole, an epic 800-yard, dogleg left that allows golfers six strokes to make par even if they are not a former president. Not to be upstaged by Panther Creek's grassy monolith, Cougar Trail’s ninth hole tests putting power with a colossal, 47,000-square-foot green that places it among the largest of its kind designed by humans. Bobcat Run is the relatively short younger brother, offering expedited par hunting in the form of a nine-hole, 2,561-yard layout.
Spring Lake's standard villas showcase the comforts of two bedrooms, two baths, and a fully equipped kitchen. After a day on the links, patrons can soak in tranquil views of the expansive course and its wildlife of grazing caddies from screened patios, flip through the channels on a TV equipped with cable, or chat softly over dinner and drinks at one of the resort’s two dining options. Outside the charming abodes, a pool offers respite from the Florida swelter, and a health club boasts a variety of exercise equipment.
