Michael Stern grew up watching the Food Network, so it's no surprise that he eventually sought out a career in the restaurant industry. Today, Michael is the Assistant Manager of Sriracha House, and he's charged with helping to convincingly recreate Southeast Asian street food in Miami.
It's no easy task, and sometimes even the customers can feel a bit overwhelmed by the unfamiliar menu. Luckily, Michael is there to help people navigate the series of five simple choices that culminate in a unique dish. "Choose a base, pick a meat, add some veggies, pick a sauce, [and] top it off with some crunchy," he explains. Though the dishes always turn out differently, the pieces, according to Michael, come from the owners' personal recipes, which are locked in a box and buried somewhere beneath the kitchen.
