St. Jacobs & Aberfoyle Model Railway

St. Jacobs & Aberfolye Model Railway recreates the Southern Ontario of the '50s in miniature. For every foot of Ontario land, there is a quarter inch of railway showcasing the two major railroads —Canadian National and Canadian Pacific—as full hand-built models. The display is so thorough, it takes up 3,000 square feet and shows trains departing from major urban terminals, running through rural depots, and chugging into the countryside as they pass fields and rivers. Families often come see these detailed, locked-in-time scenes and imagine what it was like back in the day when everyone traveled by miniature rail.

Customer Reviews

It has so much detail! The trains are great, and there are layers of design and things to look at. You'll need to walk around a few times to ensure you see everything!

Our four little grandchildren were as thrilled with this experience as we're we. A beautiful venture into the past so lovingly presented.

Amazing work -- the craftsmanship and the intricacy of each display. It was really a reflection of how the lifestyle back then. Can't get enough of it. We could look at it all day. Just a bit difficult to look at the displays at far back end and if also, they would at least have two to three stools for those who forgot(that's us, haha!) to bring stools for their little ones but still, we enjoyed it! Best part was the 'night display' when the Christmas train came out together with Santa!
