About St. Petersburg Museum of History
Since 1922, the St. Petersburg Museum of History has shared the Sunshine City's unique stories and Florida's rich heritage. Visitors will experience local history from the early pioneers to present day — exploring how a sleepy little fishing village turned into a booming metropolis, alive with arts and culture at every corner. Our Flight One Gallery charts commercial aviation history through the birth of the world's first commercial airline, complete with a full-size working replica of the Benoist XIV airboat. Schrader's Little Cooperstown features the world's largest collection of autographed baseballs, as guests discover the birth of spring training right here in St. Pete. The Odditorium offers a peek at the city's stranger past - including a two-headed calf and an authentic 3,000-year-old Egyptian mummy. Those looking to delve deeper into St. Pete and Florida's rich history are welcome to explore the Museum's archival library, or partake in one of our various educational programs, including group tours, community events, and summer camps.
