Q:

Is this class suitable for an almost 15 year old girl?

Adrienne a.  asked on  Jul 19, 2012

A:

Hi, Adrienne. First of all, thanks for your interest. I am confident that a 15 year old girl is mature enough to participate in any stained glass adventure. She'll be capable of following the safety rules as easily as any adult. Maybe when you're through with the introductory class, the two of you might consider following through with a beginners' stained glass class. I'm setting them up on my web site over the next few days so that introductory students have an opportunity to continue the fun.

Q:

Is the place where the class is held -a residence/home or in a shop? also How much would the equipment cost if I wanted to make another Star on my own at home?

Cindy O.  asked on  Jul 19, 2012

A:

Hi, Cindy. Classes are held in my large 900 sq. ft. studio over my garage behind my residence. Sorry to take over an hour to get back to you. I wanted to be sure to accurately answer your equipment cost question. There is no charge to students who take my classes for any tools or stained glass equipment, as you may have already read. I can order your own a beginners kit for you to use at home which costs $90. It includes: -Hakko Soldering Iron -Glass Cutter -Cutting Fluid -Flux -Flux Brush -Running Plier -Grozer/Breaker Combo Plier -Abrasive Stone -Foil -Burnisher -Safety Glasses -5 varied pieces of stained glass -Pattern Book Once you've taken the "beginner class" (separate from this introductory class), you will be welcome to come and work here at my studio any time, 7 days a week, from 9 AM to 10 PM. You would just have to call and schedule the time(s) you'd want to come. There is a $10/hr studio rental fee. If you have any further questions or concerns, just give me a call at 763-300-9556. Looking forward to seeing you. - Judy

Q:

Are supplies additional (if so, around how much) and how many stars can one person expect to make in your 4 hr class? Will finished projects be ready to take home?

Rachel M.  asked on  Jul 19, 2012

A:

The great thing about my classes is that there are NO additional tools that you are required to purchase. This class includes use of the best quality tools that I use in my own work. For this class, because it is an introductory class, the glass is included in this package. I left enough time for the class so you won't feel rushed to finish it. If you finish ahead of time, you may leave or you're welcome to stay and create your own original sun-catcher. Yes, you will leave with a beautiful star, ready to hang.

Q:

Would it be possible to have a weekday class during the day? I would sign up for myself and my two teenage daughters?

Linda E.  asked on  Jul 19, 2012

A:

Hi, Linda. I'm pretty easy going and certainly willing to work with your schedule, especially since there are three of you, already. It would be great if you could ask two more people to join us, so we can make it a full class with your own private party. What an excellent way to spend a creative afternoon! So go ahead and sign up, then give me a call. I look forward to seeing you.
