The dinner menu includes clams and mussels sautéed in a garlicky white-wine sauce and served with french bread toast ($12.95). Rigatoni pasta arrives tossed in a four-cheese sauce with shredded radicchio ($15.95). Entree portions of veal piccata simmer in a white-wine lemon-and-caper sauce ($19.95), while creamy risotto mingles in bowls with mixed seafood, white wine, tomatoes, and spinach ($19.95).
Inside Star Bene’s cozy, peach-colored dining room, diners dig in to bowls of “super comfort food,” as described by Christina Walters of Metro Active, which includes homemade pastas and slow-cooked meats. Inside the low-lit dining room, which is reminiscent of a beach cottage, servers uncork bottles of Italian and Californian wines to complement swirls of pasta and diners’ ever-rosier cheeks.
