About Star Cinema Grill - Arlington Heights / Hollywood Palms - Naperville

The Hollywood Palms may be in Chicago, but the movie theater is still filled with its namesake tree. It has been ever since the owner took a trip to Miami and returned with two semi-trucks full of tropical plants, including three species of palm, South American coffee trees, and more. These plants live in the theater's three-story glass conservatory, where visitors can peruse them or don a leafy hat and join them.

Of course, the wildlife isn't even the main attraction. That would be the films, a mix of cult classics and new blockbusters for which visitors can purchase tickets at a bamboo-roofed box office. (In keeping with the tropical theme, the usher stand is flanked by doors from Indonesia and Jamaica, carved with elephants and skulls.) After that, they watch their selection in one of the colorful, themed theaters—there are eight, all told—outfitted with comfy leather rocking chairs.
