Coffee & Tea Festival
Whether you start your morning with a bracing cup of French roast or wind down at night with a soothing pot of chamomile, chances are that coffee and tea play a role in your everyday life. For the last 10 years, the organizers of the Coffee & Tea Festival celebrate this close relationship with an expo celebrating the growers, roasters, processors, and sellers of these ubiquitous beverages.
The tradition continues in March, when the Brooklyn Expo Center will fill with more than 80 coffee and tea merchants from around the country. The guest list represents many of the world’s coffee and tea hot spots, with vendors specializing in everything from Japanese teas (Cha Do Raku) to Italian espresso (San Remo). Their drinks pair well with the festival’s food options, which include sweet and savory snacks, like biscotti from Anita’s Biscotti and liqueur cakes from Full Spirited Flavors.
Between samples, guests can attend free seminars led by industry experts. In addition to enhancing their own knowledge, they’ll be helping others do the same: the proceeds from the event’s raffle benefit Cup for Education, a non-profit organization bringing educational tools and training to at-risk communities in Central and South America.
