Q:

Does darker skin pigmentation can be treated with this deal? How effect on whiteheads/mila, darker circle under eyes? If Q-pixel combine with IPL(AFT in Alma) how the treatments should be arranged? Does chemical peel or microdermabration will add benefit to the result(especially for skin type IV and above)? How many years have your equipments been in service? How many Q-pixel do you do each week?

Yuling S.  asked on  Oct 13, 2012

A:

Yes, darker skin can be treated with this deal. When dealing with darker skin, you have to have experience and use caution. Milia can be treated with a tool called a comedone extractor, a topical retinoid cream such as tretinoin, tazarotene, or adapalene or a series of acid peels or microdermabrasion procedures...and this should only be done by a professional. I prefer to do the IPL first followed by the pixel. I use the 515, 540 and 570 depending on skin color. This arrangement in treatment is only my preference. Chemical peel and/or microderm are both great treatments and you get great results, but I would want to do a skin assessment prior to adding these services to the existing Groupon. Skin resurfacing will help to correct the dark circles under the eyes. All of our equipment was purchased in April of 2011 and have upgraded the handpieces in June of this year to get the Q-Pixel. I stay on top of my equipment to always have what I feel is the best for my clients. I average approx 25 pixels per week...Tues - Fri.

Q:

Do any of these procedures work on acne scars? If so, what will the down time be, and how effective is it?

Johnny M.  asked on  Oct 13, 2012

A:

Yes, skin resurfacing works fantastic on acne scars, scars and stretchmarks. If you were to choose the I Pixel....you would have a 7-10 day down time. If you choose the Q Pixel...you would have no downtime, but would require more treatments.

Q:

Can you use this treatment on the chest area? Is this the 1440 fractional laser? Or, which laser do you use and what is the difference between the two? I guess my question is, do you use the 1440 fractional laser and if not is yours as powerful of a treatment as what I'd get with the common 1440 fractional treatment. Also, What treatment do you suggest for cleavage / chest wrinkles and sun damage? I should have been a nun! Perhaps, I wouldn't have the issue if I was. Lol:)

Regina C.  asked on  Oct 11, 2012

A:

lol...:) We do not use a 1440 fractional laser, we use a Pixel Pro 2940 laser. Can you tell me what brand of laser you have used in the past is...the 1440? You can use the pixel on your chest and have fantastic results. I would do a photofacial followed by a pixel. Let me know what the brand of laser is and I will respond with the differences between the two. Have a great night.

Q:

Define down time. As in no can go to work or just stay out of the sun.

Joe F.  asked on  Oct 10, 2012

A:

Hi Joe, Down time means that your face will be red, poss swollen with tiny little square marks on your face. You will look mostly like you have a sunburn...from a distance:). You must keep your face clean and moisturized at all times...this means that you will have a cream(white) or an ointment(greasy) appearance to your face. If you are working alone or not with the public...you will be fine. If you are working with the public or maybe a school teacher...then I would suggest waiting for a holiday vacation:) Please let me know if you have any other questions. Have a great day!!

Q:

If the ablative procedure is used, will 3 treatments be required?

Loretta W.  asked on  Oct 10, 2012

A:

Loretta, Can you tell me what you are wanting to remove with the ablative procedure? You will always get results with only 1 treatment, but for certain concerns, the 3...or more may be needed. Please let me know and I will respond immediately. Thank you!!

Q:

What do you mean by downtime? Does the photofacial and laser both help with dark spots? Will there be any additional costs with the procedures? (office visit fee, etc)

Teran H.  asked on  Oct 10, 2012

A:

Hi Teran, Downtime would be different for all 3 procedures....The I Pixel will have a 7-10 day downtime, meaning your face will be red, poss swelling along with the pixel "marks" on your face, and you will need to apply a certain cream to your face along with a certain wash multiple times per day...every 2-4 hours Absolutely nothing else can be put on your face at all for at least 5-10 days after the treatment. The Q Pixel will leave your face looking a little pink for up to 24 hours. Most people are only a little splotchy for a few hours and then return to normal. You may continue your regular routine of moisturizer along with makeup after 24 hours. The IPL will leave your face feeling similar to a slight sunburn, sensitive and looking pink. Any melasma or sun damage will get darker and come up closer to the surface of the skin...similar to coming in from tanning. The spots will continue to get darker for approx 24 hours. During the 24 hours and after you may use makeup if you wish. Most people will begin to flake the dark spots(sun damage) off within 3-5 days. The photofacial will be the treatment of choice to remove dark spots. The photofacial will smooth out the skin and help reduce any redness in the skin as well as removing the existing sun damage from the skin. Multiple treatments of photofacials will be needed due to the multiple layers of sundamage that we will be pulling up and off. The Q pixel will not remove brown spots, but it can lighten them up... very slightly. The I Pixel is ablative and because of this it will remove the top 20% of skin...by the laser removing the tissue, this will lighten up the brown spots because it is simply removing some of the discolored skin...again this would not be my choice for sun damage removal. The only costs that you will ever have will be your aftercare products and these can be purchased at your local store....Wal Mart, Target etc. These products will be vinegar, Cera Ve, and this would only be for the ablative I Pixel. There are no hidden fees by our office. The treatment of MY choice would be the Q Pixel with the photofacial...this is an excellent treatment for almost everyone. With this treatment you can remove the sun damage, help with any broken blood vessels, stimulate the collagen and shrink the pores all with little to no downtime. I hope this helps to answer your questions. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to call the office. Thank you! Terah

Q:

does this lighten dark spots, remove small acne scars ?

mickey d.  asked on  Oct 10, 2012

A:

Hello Mickey, Yes, this treatment is fantastic for dark spots and scars. The best option for you will be the Q-Pixel(no down time) or I-Pixel(7-10 day downtime)....your choice for the scarring and include the photofacial to remove the dark spots. You will see amazing results! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
