Steakies Cheesesteaks owner Glen Feller got into the cheesesteak business at the ripe old age of 13. Working his way up through some of Philadelphia's busiest restaurants and eventually the Culinary Institute of America, he learned the ins and outs of a great sandwich. He also found a creative twist on the "ins" part—"pouch bread," a fresh-baked round italian roll that's hollowed out and then filled with choice sirloin, cheese, and all the desired fixings.
It's not all sandwiches, however–Glen and his wife Marci have a knack for desserts as well, delivering cookies by the half-dozen or dozen in such a snap that they arrive still warm and gooey. Classic chocolate chip cookies vie for attention with pairings such as apple and oatmeal or peanut butter and Cap'n Crunch. If the menu of cheesesteaks, hoagies, and hot dogs isn't enough to fool you, the miniature streets decorating the walls (complete with signs for South Street and Albridge Way) will make you think you're actually in Philadelphia instead of an elaborate 40-square-mile simulacrum of Tempe, Arizona.
