Steppenwolf is one of Chicago's most adventurous and ambitious theater organizations, known for its groundbreaking innovations and marquee productions. Its newest venture, The Compass, is an interactive performance that pushes the envelope even further. Most interactive theater experiences simply bring audience members on stage, or place someone from the cast in the crowd, but The Compass, in addition to being a compelling drama, gives you the power to shape the direction of the performance. The story, which takes places in a courtroom and follows the fate of a young person whose life is about to change completely, poses a difficult question: When someone tells you what to do, what exactly are you responsible for? Each night, The Compass will end differently, based on what you and your fellow audience members decide.
