After macaroni art, dancing is widely agreed upon as the best way to express yourself. Torch some rug with today’s deal, where $40 gets you four classes at Stepping Out Studios, an $85 value. The studio was recently nominated for the Favorite Studio award at the Academy Awards of dancing, The Prestige Awards. Your Groupon is good for classes of all levels, so you won't need cheat codes to attend this prestigious but modest school of dance located between Chelsea and the Flatiron District. Styles range from Latin to ballroom and are all taught by certifiable dance machines.

Just like the moon itself, classes are structured on a four-week cycle that progressively builds each week. You should plan on attending beginning the first week of the cycle, as each successive class relies upon knowledge and skills acquired in the previous week. Just as you wouldn’t learn to time travel without first learning how to pilot your chrono-gyrocopter in 4D space, you can’t learn an inside turn with double twist without knowing the basic steps. There are three start weeks to choose from: the week of November 23, January 4, or February 1. This isn’t to say there are limited classes. Each week has a wide variety of different classes at different times (starting after 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, 1 p.m. on weekends) seven days a week. Check the current schedule for a better idea of available classes and times.

Stylistically, there is a wide array of classes, like classic Salsa, international waltz, swing, and rumba, and cha cha, to name a few. Seasoned movers and shakers lead beginner classes to ensure unsure first-timers successfully master the basics. Lords of dance instruct advanced classes to make sure the advanced learners are constantly challenged.

About Stepping Out Studios

Stepping Out Studios owner George Qiao carries on Stepping Out Studio's tradition of teaching partner dances such argentine tango, swing, salsa, hustle, and country western to all levels and backgrounds, with a team of experienced instructors on staff. Stepping Out's staff roster is comprised of competitors who’ve graced the stages of TV programs such as the Today Show, Dancing with the Stars, and numerous off-Broadway productions.

The teachers also stay connected to the local dance community, so they can recommend local clubs to their students once they've mastered salsa and merengue at four-week Crash Courses or the smooth-steps of the foxtrot at group classes. But students don’t have to go far to show off their skills—the studio hosts dance parties almost every day.
