Q:

Does this fill the requirements for the scuba merit badge for boy scouts. If so, are any of the instructors merit badge counselors to sign off on the blue card?

Laurie M.  asked on  Dec 12, 2012

A:

This class does not fulfill the requirements for the Merit Badge. To get the Merit Badge you have to complete a full Scuba Certification. We are working with several other troops right now that are getting ready for SeaBase for the summer of 2013. We have group packages for troops and BSA members to get certified. If you need further details please call our shop 703-421-3483

Q:

how deep (ft?) would we go in the swimming pool in this class?

niraja s.  asked on  Dec 12, 2012

A:

For the Discover Scuba Diving class we stay in the shallow part of the Pool. We will be in the 4ft area of the pool during the class. Towards the end of the class those that want to can choose to take a quick dip in the deep end of the pool to see what it is like to be in deeper water.

Is this a certification class?

This is not a certification class. The purpose of this class is for the individual to evaluate their comfort level with being underwater using SCUBA equipment. The next step is to take the SCUBA class if you feel you are ready. If you sign up for the certification class after the Discover Scuba Class you will get a $59 discount on the certification class.
