Grammy-winning fiddler, composer and Seattle native Mark O'Connor brings his holiday celebration An Appalachian Christmas back home to The Moore Theatre. Praised as "a model of intelligence, heart and soul" by the Los Angeles Times, this special Yuletide show was inspired by O'Connor's 2011 album of the same name, which features a rootsy blend of Christmas carols and traditional American country, bluegrass and mountain music. Performed to acclaim across the country, this joyful concert event offers fresh takes on some well-loved holiday songs plus a few original compositions from O'Connor and his talented friends. O'Connor was a child prodigy, who won his first national titles on the fiddle and guitar at age 13. Since then, he's gone on to become a much sought-after performer and composer, who won one of his two Grammys for 2001's Appalachian Journey with Yo-Yo Ma and Edgar Meyer.
