OH my gosh.....To get a Groupon from Sticks is awesome. My friends were quite surprised when I tiold them that I got one. iI ONLY WISH THAT I would have purchased a higher value option than I did. I love Sticks art work and designs. I plan to take advantage of the sale they are now having as well.....I say "thank you" to them for the gift of the Groupon. I hope that they do it again. The woman who checked me out, indicated that there are "some issues" which need to be worked out. Since you remind us several times to use them, if we do not, it is our own fault. We should not expect Sticks to alter their polices and rules for us. Only in case of serious illness or death should any of the customers expect any policies to be altered. Sticks work is in very high end stores around the country. We need to be a little more grateful as customers.........

I will definitely do this again if Sticks has another Groupon offer. I love their merchandise and to be able to get it at a discount is great!

The staff at Sticks were very helpful. Items are one of a kind. I have a question regarding the UV protection on an item and they responded in one day.

Distinctive birch, poplar, and driftwood forms take on vibrant hues and whimsical designs to forge Sticks’ unique and eclectic collection of furniture, gifts, and object art. Beginning with untouched tinder, a staff of inspired artisans carves, paints, etches, and embellishes each piece over a period of eight days within the company’s award-winning Des Moines studio, forging one-of-a-kind creations. Lazy susans ($414–$506), which come in a variety of designs, do double duty as vibrant table centerpieces and merry-go-rounds for bored condiments. Shelves and mantles take on a soaring quality with the addition of a driftwood angel ($517), whose fluttering wire hair and outstretched wooden arms give the illusion of celestial flight. Candlesticks ($101.20–$138) buttress waxen tapers with off-kilter shapes and zany patterns, and candlestick lamps ($414) brighten rooms with modern technology and cheerful whimsy, much like Dr. Seuss’s designer collection of decorative iPads.

About Sticks

Sticks sprung from humble origins when, in 1992, Sarah Grant began carving ornaments and candlesticks from birch, poplar, and driftwood in a small studio in Des Moines. As her work began to attract national interest and demand for it grew, Sarah enlisted the aid of other local artists and expanded her inventory to include handcrafted heirloom-quality furniture, whimsical sculptures, and intricate keepsakes.

Today, the artists’ work is showcased in more than 100 galleries across the country. Their installation projects have even decorated the walls of Blank Children’s Hospital, the Animal Rescue League of Central Iowa, and the student center at Iowa State University.

Sticks artists can often be spotted by the shores of local rivers, gathering driftwood for their work. They assemble the wood into custom-designed tables, beds, and armoires within their spacious, light-filled studio before painting them with colorful, whimsical designs, from smiling suns and moons to lush landscapes. The versatile artists even take their tools and paintbrushes to homes, businesses, and underground mad-scientist labs to craft custom art installations and interiors.
