Streetlight hasn't changed... it's an old facility and it certainly looks that way. But... the staff was friendly enough and the sell-back procedure works for me. The prices are still not comparible to Amazon or even Best Buy, so I only go there when I have things to sell (usually DVDs, which they only give about $3.00 per DVD on average, but it's all about convenience and not having to package them/sell online, which I find to be a pain and not worth my time).

I love this enterprise. They have everything I ever want; it is fun to browse there; they are cool without being condescending.

What You'll Get

A well-rounded music collection is a sign of a well-rounded person, whereas a well-octagoned music collection means that you’re attempting to listen to stop signs on your turntable. Give the green light to recorded sound with today’s Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of used merchandise at Streetlight Records’ San Jose outpost, located on South Bascom.

Stocked with used media of all shapes and sizes—including thousands of DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs, vinyl, cassettes, and VHS tapes—Streetlight Records has the audio/visual goods to shove into the most elitist of electronic entertainment devices. Cinemaphiles can usher the latest talkies into their homes by perusing Streetlight’s bustling shelves of DVDs and Blu-rays. A thriving vinyl section will thrill disc jockeys jockeying for LPs, 12-inches, and 45s, and a growing assortment of video games will make gamers press B-A-B-A in delight. Although prices vary, the average used CD can range from $4.99 to $9.99, and the average used DVD from $5.99 to $12.99.

In addition to physical proof that music exists, Streetlight also houses live in-store performances from nationally known acts and local bands. Meanwhile, the store’s knowledgeable staff of music fans helps customers distinguish Patti Smith from Patty Smyth and Pavement from the guy who sang “Life Is a Highway.”
