After birthing a child, many mothers go to extremes to get back into shape, such as power-lifting diapers filled with rocks and running while pushing strollers filled with diapers filled with rocks. Safely shape post-baby bodies with today’s Groupon: for $25, you get six Stroller Strides mom-and-kid exercise classes (a $60 value) at Stroller Strides, which has indoor and outdoor locations in the Little Rock area. All six classes must be used within one month of your first session.
Getting in shape after giving birth can be difficult; taking care of the baby takes a lot of time and leaves bodies weary and sapped of energy. Stroller Strides understands these common struggles and has designed exercise regimens with new mothers in mind. All you need to get started is you, your baby or someone else's baby, and a stroller. The classes, taught by specially trained instructors, usually take place outdoors and consist of a warm-up, a buggy-bandying power walk, and interval stations where participants do a variety of body-toning exercises. Instructors provide everyone with exercise tubing and, in the event of a fussy-baby episode, will show you exercises you can do with your baby.
In addition to providing a fun exercise regimen that takes babies into consideration, Stroller Strides is a venue for new mothers to interact and socialize. Commiserate over shared difficulties and take joy in each other's successes. A positive environment that encourages return visits is a key factor in sticking to a physical-fitness routine. Surrounded by friendly instructors, mom peers, and a teeming horde of adorable babies, a Stroller Strides class creates a positive, encouraging environment for re-obtaining a pre-baby physique.
First-time participants only.
Little Rock Fit4Mom
Though a flock of strollers cascading across a park may be an unusual sight, to Meg and Susan it's an average day at work. That's because they lead Stroller Strides classes for moms. During the classes, women build strength and tone muscles with interval training, while instructors infuse the session with activities to entertain the stroller-bound babies. In addition to Stroller Strides, Meg and Susan also lead 8-week Body Back sessions which use high intensity interval training and meal plans to help moms reach their fitness goals. Susan, a mother of two and Fit4Mom franchise owner, holds a MS in health education and specializes in prenatal and postnatal fitness. Through her work, she, along with Meg, help their clients realize that being a mom doesn't mean having to give up your own personal care or closet of barbells.
