Photographs provide a more concrete way of recording recollections than sketching portraits in sand or dictating memoirs to an empty jam jar. Preserve precious memories with today’s Groupon for portrait services at Stuart-Rodgers Photography, redeemable at any of its three locations in Chicago, Evanston, or Highland Park. Choose between the following options:
- For $50, you get a 30-minute in-studio portrait session for an individual, couple, or family with kids ages 5 and up, plus an 8”x10” print (a $230 value).
- For $90, you get a 30-minute in-studio portrait session with a child-friendly assistant for an individual, couple, or family with children under the age of 5, plus an 8”x10” print (a $330 value).
Stuart-Rodgers provides a relaxed studio atmosphere, designed to make subjects feel at ease so that individual and family personalities can be captured, but not held against their will. The 30-minute portrait session will incorporate posed groupings and candid interaction to provide a mix of classic portraits and fun, informal snapshots. For families with younger children or older man-children, a photographer’s assistant will be on hand to make sure that youngsters and the young-at-heart are happy and comfortable. Following the image grafting, photo subjects receive an 8”x10” print in color or black and white of their favorite shot, and are able to view 80–100 photos online about a week after the session.
Betty Stuart always had a talent for documentation. After graduating from Northwestern University's prestigious Medill School of Journalism in 1940, Stuart applied her shrewd journalistic eye to the field of photography. As she took on more professional jobs, she honed her skills behind the lens and learned how to blend into the background of weddings and other events so as not to interfere with candid moments.
Before long, Stuart joined forces with her husband, John Boyd Rodgers, to found Stuart-Rodgers Photography. The nascent company soon added corporate, commercial, and school photography to its list of services and, due to high demand for the couple’s innovative journalistic approach, expanded to three locations throughout Chicagoland. Today, Stuart-Rodgers's team of professional photographers maintains elements of Stuart’s original photographic vision in every shot, including her knack for capturing angles that draw attention away from subjects’ unflattering tentacles.
