I'm flying into Memphis on Sat. evening, 10/6 to visit my son, and depart Weds. 10/10. Would it be possible to line up a glass fusing or glass slumping class on M or T, 10/8 or 10/9?

Q:

Sent a question earlier about possibly trying to arrange a class for Oct. 8th or 9th. Just changed my plane reservation -- would Thurs. 10/4 or Friday 10/5 work? I could consider Sat. 10/6, but that's time I'd have available with my son (who'd be working during the week). Thanks!

I do have classes on those days...call me to schedule and check availability.

Q:

What is difference in the 3 classes? Glass Slumping Glass Fusion Flame Worked Jewelry

Barry B.  asked on  Sep 12, 2012

A:

Flame working...you will make 3 pendants by manipulating the glass in a flame to shape it and add color. Blowing...you will blow the glass into a small holiday ornament. Fusing...you can construct jewelry, coasters,a clock face, or sun catcher out of sheets of colored glass which I will then fire in a kiln to fuse into one piece. Slumping...goes through one more firing on a mold in order to shape glass into a vase, tray, or bowl.

Q:

Can I take a glass vase that has a broken stem and fix it in this class?

Mary D.  asked on  Sep 12, 2012

A:

Most likely you can not...it depends on the type of glass it is made of...if it is made of Pyrex then you may be able to.
